Inky Impressions Sketch Challenge

Hi blogger friends. First of all let me say congratulations to Mary D for winning our Embossing Challenge. Congratulations, hon. I'm sorry about this but this has to be a really quick post. I made this card for the Inky Impression Sketch Challenge which will be going on for 2 weeks.

I used a nestabilities die cut and entwined some ribbon through it, used a Martha Stewart lattice punch, coloured Water Lili with distress inks (hasnt she just got the most gorgeous face...) and put a bit of bling here and there. Cant live without bling!!!!

Thats it, folks. Told you it was going to be a quickie today.

Molly Bloom - just for fun

Hi everyone. I decided to make a card just for fun today. I had my birthday yesterday and received so much from all my friends and family, it was the best. My sister spoiled me rotten. So did my mum and my very good friend in England sent me a package that was so cool. AND my dear hubby bought me an SLR camera.
Anyway I thought I'd make a quick card today to celebrate a great birthday !!! Any excuse, hey???
I used Molly Bloom and her deckchair and umbrella. Now, I didnt use my slr so the photo is not that good. Hopefully they will be better from now on. These are a few challenges I entered with it:

Inky Impressions Challenge - Emboss it

Hi everyone. So, today is the new Challenge over at Inky Impressions and its a great one this week. Emboss it. So get out your embossing items and come and join in. I chose to dry emboss and got out my cuttlebug palm trees, which I just love. I coloured Lili with copic markers and just tore some kraft paper for the sand. Of course you can choose to wet emboss, emboss with a stencil, whatever you want. I used the gorgeous Beach Bound Lili which you can find HERE. How cute is she?

Dont forget you only have a week to get your creations in. You dont have to use an Inky Impressions stamp, but we would love to see you do so.

Inky Impressions Challenge - Tag It

Another Challenge over at Inky Impressions this week, saw me diving for the Magnolia Tag on the top card, that I hadnt had a chance to use before. I am so in love with it, and I also got the chance to use my absolutely favourite Inky Impressions stamp Angelica's Heart Socks. The challenge is Tag It, so get those tags out, ladies and show us what you've got. I couldnt make my mind up to make a card or tag, so I did both. Dont forget our challenges are running for just 1 week now. You dont have to use an Inky Impressions stamp, but it would be great if you do.
Also, check out Sammi's awesome tutorial on masking. She's done a fantastic job and if your unsure on exactly how to do this, she really helps you to work it out, and makes it look simple. Follow her tutorial and you'll be amazed at how easy it is. If you want to challenge yourself she uses more than one mask so this is the tutorial for you.

Winter Wonderland Challenge - Inky Impressions

Hello everyone. I hope your all getting back into the swing of things after the holidays.

Our challenge at Inky Impressions this week is Winter Wonderland and it runs for 1 week.

For my card I used Winter Fashion Marlee. I'm loving her sooooo much.

I used Tim Holtz house background and tree and I embossed the paer with Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. Added a bit of lace and loads of glitter, which, unfortunately, you just cant see. Terrible photography, I'm afraid. I even tried scanning it in and it was still terrible!!!

New Years Card and Party

Just a quick one today, folks. I did this for New Year. I just love Party Pippin in the glass. He reminds me of me on New Years Eve... Ha ha. Seriously, I'm not joking. I didnt go to bed until 6am after a big New Years Eve party at my sisters place. It was a Fairytale fancy dress. Phew, I suffered a bit on New Years Day. I cant remember the last time I had a hangover, but, boy, I had one then. Needless to say, Its one of my resolutions. NEVER AGAIN.

And, just for you Sue, here's a couple of photo's of the night. I was Queen of Hearts, by the way.

My son (tigger) (just turned sweet 16 and 6' 3"), my very sweet friend Gail, (love you so much) (tinkerbell), some of my closest friends Briggite and Andre(love you guys, heaps) and me.

My nephew from England, Leigh. He was King Neptune, but he's lost the hair and beard by now.

It was a great night and everyone had a ball, but I'm glad the next one is another year away!!!

I know I've already said it, but Happy New Year to all my blogging friends.

Inky Impressions Ribbons and Pearls Challenge

Hi Everyone. The New Year is well on its way now and I wish you all the best for 2011.

Welcome to our Inky Impressions first challenge of the year which is Ribbons and Pearls.

Today I used Angelica's Daydream which you can find HERE. I gotta say, she is one of my favourites and one that I keep going back to time and time again. I just love her.

The Inky Challenges are now running on a weekly basis instead of fortnightly, so watch out for the Wednesday Challenges and if you enter all the challenges for that month you will be in the running to win a goodie bag from our gorgeous Inky Mama, Nicole. So get your skates on guys, and enter for your chance to win.

I coloured Angelica with copics and mounted her on the magnolia cupcake. I used nestabilities dies and airbrushed the pink background. Added a bit of Ribbon, Lace and Pearls and 'voila', finished.

Inky Impressions - Black, White and 1 other Colour Challenge

Hi everyone. Wow, Christmas is getting so close. Have you all finished your chrissy shopping? I'm a little bit more organised than previous years, which is unknown for me, because I'm so unorganised. I try hard but it certainly doesnt come naturally for me.

The challenge this time at Inky Impressions is Black, White and 1 other colour. Jump on over there and have a look at the wonderful creations from the Design Team. I promise you'll love what you see.

Did you see the new Inky Animal Stamps? OMG, they are soooo cute and I gotta tell you, the quality of these stamps are fantastic. They stamp beautifully. They are the deepest etched stamp I have ever seen. Truly, I kid you not. (Nicole, your a legend, girlfriend).

For my card today, I used All Bundled up Lili (tell me she's just not the cutest) and coloured her with copics. I punched the poinsettia from a Marianne Creatables die and the flourish is a Tim Holtz die. The North Pole sign is a quickutz die and the hills with the snow is just torn paper with stickles.

I have been so inspired the last few days by Tim Holtz tags so I decided to try one for myself.
I used the gorgeous Rachels Gingerbreads Christmas which you can find Here.
I embossed the tag with the textiles cuttlebug folder, and enlarged and printed Rachel on the computer and just used a portion of her. I then printed her again onto Designer Paper and cut out her dress. So much fun.

Inky Impressions Christmas Challenge

Greetings everyone. Its time for my first card as an Inkette. How exciting. Our first challenge over at Inky Impressions is Christmas. You can create anything at all with a Christmas theme. I used Rachels Gingerbread Christmas which is available as a Digi Image. Its Rachel when she was younger. How cute is she!!!

I stamped and coloured her with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress and gift. Of course there's quite a bit of glitter on and I've used Atyou Spica pens for more bling.

Another Show and Tell

G'day everyone. Just a quick today. I've gone mad on making tags so you'll probably be seeing a few of those in the future. I find them soooo much easier than making cards when time is short. Its hard to find a hallween challenge at this time of year but, find one I did!!! I entered this into:
Haunted Design House - use at least 2 patterned papers
Here's another one I made with a Red Back Spider.

For anyone outside of Oz, the Red Back spider is one of our most venemous spiders. At least they are noticeable with their red back, hey?

Incidentally, and this is a true story, my friend, Natalie, got a nasty bite on her foot while driving. It was under the peddle of her car. Luckily for her she felt the bite, and saw the spider, and she pulled over and went into a big hotel here in Perth, where they called an ambulance who took her to hospital and gave her the anti-venom serum. She was still extremely ill in hospital for a while and if she's sees a Red Back now, she panics. Anyway, now I've told you that little story, I'll be off to get some shut eye. Its 12.15am and my eyes are closing. I cant go to bed without reading at least 2 pages of my book. More if I can manage it. Mmmmmm, I'll probably still be up at 2am. I'm a terrible insomniac. Arnt all us crafters?????

Tilda's Blue Christmas

Hi guys. Well, I hope Tilda's Christmas is not blue!!! I made an Easel Card this time. I've only made a couple of these and I always like how they turn out. I used the Martha Stewart Snow Flake Punch and I coloured Tilda with copics. The tree behind her is a Sizzix embossing folder. I just cut around the tree. Here's another closer pic:

Some Exciting News

Hey Everyone. I have some exciting news to tell you.

I am now on the Inky Impressions Design Team!!!! Woo hoo, how totally cool is that? I've been dying to tell you all, but today is the first time I've had the chance since I found out. Nicole very kindly invited me to join her fabulous team and I'm still trying to get my head around it. I've been buying Nicoles stamps for about 2 years now and I just love them soooo much. Dreaming Tilda and Happy Birthday Indei-Lou.

Well hello everyone. I hope you all had a 'scary' Halloween. I've just put all my halloween goodies away until next year. My punches, die cuts, stamps, cricut cartridges, etc etc. What a pity we only get them out once a year?

I made this card for my neice. Its her birthday today. Happy Birthday, Indei Lou. I actually made her a Waterfall Card, but can I find It!!??? It is nowhere to be seen. I cant believe it. So I had to throw something together in about 10 minutes. Still, I entered it into these challenges, just for the fun:

Christmas Pretties

Hi Everyone. Today I thought I'd show you these super cute images from Lily of the Valley. I saw them on someone's blog and I thought "what a great idea". Superb for when you are in a rush. I wish I could remember whose blog I saw them on and then I could give her credit for alerting me to these. I remember she made a gorgeous card, but when I went back to look for it I couldnt find it. Thank you anyway. I just love them. The images are already cut and coloured all ready for you to use. All you need to do is design the card. Simple stuff, hey??? Now, I love to colour, but, if I'm to be completely honest, my colouring is Terrible, yes, with a capital T....... so I thought I'd give these a go and have an easy Christmas this year, as far as cardmaking goes anyway. Its a pity you cant see the sparkles on these because they are 'really' sparkly. Also there are other images, not just Christmas and they are all extremely cute. Nip over to lilliofthevalley and take a look. By the way, the postage was SuperFast.

On to the card. I used my very favourite Snowflake punch from Martha Stewart. I only just found this and I know I'm going to use it soooo much for Christmas, so get ready for seeing it lots on my postings in the future. The holly is also a Martha Stewart Punch. I added a bit of ribbon and 'hey, presto', finished. Too cool. I have already made a bunch of these so take a look underneath for the different images. I entered this into 3 challenges:

Hello all you wonderful bloggers out there, how are you all? Not long to Halloween now. I hate having to put all my goodies away when its all over. Lets face it, its another year before I get them all out again!!! I dont know about you guys, but if I see anything to do with Witches, Pumpkins, spooky trees and houses, I just have to have it and for some reason I cant think out of the box with halloween. Some of you creative girls seem to be able to use them throughout the year. I just cant. There's a challenge for you. Keep you halloween stuff on the shelves and see if you can use them during the year for other stuff!!!!!!! Mmmmmm, maybe I should take my own challenge up. Nah, maybe not. Hallweens Coming

Hi everyone. Well I'm back after quite a spell away from the computer. Halloweens coming, and though we dont celebrate it much here in Oz, I'm originally a Pom and we did celebrate it in England so I still love everything about it. A very dear cyber friend sent me this Witchy Poo stamp all the way from France. Isnt she just the sweetest? My friend AND the stamp, I mean. I thought I'd better get her stamped up before its all over for another year. I just love this image.

I'm not the savviest of computer people, so keeping up this blog work is quite difficult for me, but I promise to try harder. Even taking a good photo is a challenge for me!!! I think I've told you all that before.

I entered this into the City Crafter Challenge Blog and Incy Wincy Designs and Copic Oz (I hope). I've only entered a couple of challenges before and its been that long I cant remember how to do it!!!

Hiya ladies. Well I've just learnt how to do this from my iPhone so this will be a short post as I'm just practicing. Desperate measures because I'm still waiting for my laptop to come back. So, how exciting is this. Anya Ink are now opening the Challenges to use any image. So as well as CC Designs and The Greeting Farm, you can now use Magnolia, Kraftin Kimmie, Inky Impressions..... absolutely any image you like. Woo Hoo. I love it. I can now put to use all my other stamps. Onto this Challenge. I made this for the new challenge which was a recipe challenge - 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 bow. Inspiration week - Black, White and one other colour

I'm working off a really old computer at the moment so If you see loads of mistakes, please forgive!!! This card is for Inspiration Week over at Anya Ink. I havnt yet seen what the other DT members have done but I just KNOW they will be awesome. I made an Easel card as I have only done 1 before and wanted to give it another go. They are surprisingly really easy. Love them. I didnt exactly get my punching correct, though, so please dont look too closely. I used a Martha stewart corner punch and punched around a whole circle instead of the edge. I think next time I will get better. If you are patient and line it up correctly you can get it spot on, but I obviously havnt got much patience ( I will NEVER admit to that!!!). Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi to everyone. I'm a bit late posting this as I have been having BIG computer problems (for the next 3 weeks until my laptop comes back from the repair shop). Ouch, it really hurts, ha ha! Just a quick post, because the computer I'm on has a terrible keyboard and I have to type one fingered. The keys are sticky. Anyway, less of my problems and more about my card which was to use Black, White and one other colour of your choice. I actually really enjoyed it. Well, I really enjoyed this challenge, seeing as its been more than half a year since I made anything to do with Christmas. Who loves Christmas? Oh my goodness, I LOVE CHRISTMAS, so this was a perfect challenge for me. You probably cant see, but the little village I stamped at the back is all glittered. We HAVE to have glitter at Christmas, dont we!!! I coloured everything, including the flowers and corners, with Copic Markers.

Hi everyone. How was your week? Mine was 'eventful'!!! I'm hoping this week is a LOT more relaxed. Ok, I made this card for the 3rd Anya Ink Challenge which was Bling. I used the Spring Couple from CC Designs, coloured with Copic Markers and the papers I used was actually in my "throw pile". I went through some of my papers and was throwing away a heap that came free with magazines over the years!!! Then I started flipping through and just 'trying' this and that. Needless to say, the bin hasnt seen that pile of papers, they are now sat on my desk!!! The shame of it...... I'm such a HOARDER.... ha ha. Hi everyone. Well, I was so excited using these colours for Sammi's Mad for Markers Colour Challenge that I decided to make another card. I just LOVE these colours together. Hi all. Wow, 3 cards in 3 days..... gee, put the flags out. I coloured Tilda's clothes with Sakura Gelly Roll pens. Yes, you heard correct. They watercolour beautifully and leave a real shimmer. If you click on the photo you might see that gorgeous sparkle. If not, trust me, they are gorgeous. Try it and let me know what you think. Dont colour directly onto paper, put the colour down first onto a piece of acetate or something and pick up the colour from there. Have fun!!! Sorry folks, I have just edited this so that I can add something. I cannot get the shimmer to show up on the photo. Even enlarging the photo doesnt help. Give it a go and see for yourself.

Hi everyone. Well, I have been WAY behing the times, I'm afraid. I have never worked off a page map before so my friend printed us some out and we decided to have a play day and give them a go. Wow, what have we been missing? I love them. They are so easy to do. Here's the one I made. I'm off now to try another one, because I've been so slack the last 2 weeks. Wow. Another post so close to my last one. More to the point, another card, so close to my last one. I'm feeling extremely proud of myself for sticking to my "new year promise" of finding more time to craft!!! Guess what? I actually sewed on my machine. Now if you knew me, you would know that sewing is like an extreme sport to me. I'd rather go and jump out of an aeroplane. I never learnt to set up a sewing machine. When all the kids in my class was sewing, I was sat at the back of the classroom, knitting. (My Mum and Dad owned a wool store). I was always in disgrace with my teacher because I flatly refused to learn to sew. So at 44 years old, this was no easy task for me. Anyway, apart from the sewing, nothing new on this card. Oh Christmas Tree

Hi guys. Now I know this is really lame, BUT, Christmas went by sooooo fast I didnt get chance to update my blog. Now your not going to believe this but I only made 2 (yes ,two) cards this Christmas. I'm ashamed to say I bought the rest (shock, horror). This is one of them that I made for my very dear friend, Deb. I would NEVER give her a bought card. I think she would throttle me, what with all the shopping trips we have to go buy new goodies!!! I used Flower Soft on the tree and underneath the ribbon I used a technique I found on someone's blog called paper lace. I wish I could remember her name. It was so cool. If I remember I will let you know. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I would like to wish you all a very crafty 2010. Happy New Year to all you crafters out there. May we all have more time in our craft rooms than we really need..... hehe.

Tilda with tulips

I had time to do another quick card today, in between renovations and mess... We've been living without kitchen benches and sink for last week and a half, so its been a nightmare. The old camping stove in the centre of a table just doesnt cut it. Eating out however, does. Except for the excess kilo's!!!!!!!!! Pizza, chinese, noodle bar, subway............. They are putting on the granite tops and putting my sink in tomorrow, so hopefully, we'll be back to normal real soon. Then I might be able to spend more time in my vey neglected craft room. Why does my ribbon look so wobbly? Mmmmm, cant work it out, but I think the photo is a LITTLE better this time. Bye for now.

Picking flowers from the Garden

I'm not too good at keeping these blog posts up, am I? My friends arrived last Tuesday from England, and I havnt done a single thing in my craft room since. So, last night a threw an extemely simple card together, added Tilda, and voila. Dry embossing and colouring with copics is as hard as this one gets. I used flower soft on the basket of flowers. The photo corner looks terrible on this picture, but in real life its actually nearly the same colour as tilda's dress. Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon and try and post a bit more often. Bye till then.

Hi Everyone. Happy Halloween Day. Last card for halloween this year. I've just packed all my stuff away after making this, so its goodbye halloween goodies for another year. I used the Split Negative Technique (I think its called). Anyone would think that I didnt have guests coming from England in a few days. I should be cleaning the house, weeding the gardens, cooking, organising activities.... you know, all that stuff you do when you have visitors that you havnt seen in 5 years!!! Instead I've been in my craft room for about 2 hours this morning. Oops, gotta go. Gotta do the school fete and I'm now running really late. Queen of unorganised, me. See you all soon.

Haunted House

Well, I'm back, but its just for a quickie. I suddenly remembered today that I hadnt updated for about 2 weeks!!!! So I ran off to my craft room, which I also havnt been in for about 2 weeks, and made a quick card. I thought I'd just fit in another halloween card before its over. Gee, its nearly here, and I havnt even really thought about it. The spooky house in the background is by Alota Rubber Stamps (which I just love). Hope you all have a good one.

Halloween Night

I've been on the missling list for a few days so I thought I'd try out my very first Halloween card. I love halloween, not that I celebrate it or anything like that, its not big here in Oz. I just love all the halloween goodies that you can buy in the craft stores. Especially the Magnolia stamps. Have you seen the new ones? Love them. Ok, I had loads of trouble with this one. Nothing seemed to go as planned. Expecially the tree in the background. I stamped it with momento ink and for some reason it just wouldnt come out bold enough. Oh well, back to the drawing board on that one. I'm sure I'll find time to post a couple more before the end of the month, but If I dont, ave a spooky halloween.

I couldnt take just 1 photo of this card, because its a dimensional card and I thought you might want to see the layers. I made it for the buttons challenge over at Magnolia Down Under. The card uses 1 piece of A4 card, then you just embellish as you want. I used Tilda with key and I hand cut the window and the planter box. The white trim on the roof lining is German Scrap and of course I coloured Tilda and the bird with my copics. See you next time.

Going Shopping

I think you need to put your shades on to view this ones Ladies!!! I have to say I'm really terrible at matching colours. What I think looks ok, other people think is terrible. Maybe I'm colour blind and dont know it. Ha ha. When I used to go to cardmaking classes at our local store, the teacher would tell us all to pick papers that we thought would look nice on the project we were doing. I'd pick, she'd say "mmmmmmmmmmmm", then I'd hear her go around the rest of the group saying "beautiful, lovely, perfect"..... Seriously though, picking beautiful colours that go together is just so hard for me. I think this card falls into the mmmmmmmmmmmm category. Still, i had fun making it. Thats what matters, hey? It also looks like its on a slant but its actually my photograpic skills. Nil, I'm afraid. Not much I can tell you about this one. I made the tree with the stampin up punch, cut once in green and once in red, then punched with a circle punch to look like apples. Coloured tilda with copics. Hand cut the house and used the Martha Stewart fence punch. Thats it for now. Have a great day.

Gee this one was so hard to photograph. I still didnt get it right!!! Well, my friend (Deb) and I had a wonderful playday and made these gorgeous boxes. When you take the lid off it explodes with sparkling butterflys and Tilda sat in the middle. Very fun to make and simply stunning once it is opened. Deb actually found the recipe for the boxes months ago and we just decided to adapt them to "Magnolia Boxes". Ha ha. I had loads of fun making this one. I stamped the oven twice and cut out the kettle, pot, bottle and clock and mounted them with 3d tape. Coloured Oops Tilda (how cute is she???) with my copics, and voila. Poor Tilda, she dropped her eggs.....

Hi everyone. I did this heart box for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. My very talented girlfriend Deb, helped me print this lovely heart box on her cricut machine as I only have the baby cricut and wanted it to be bigger. I stamped the muffin twice, once on white cardstock and again on patterned paper for the top, put some bling on for the chocolate chips, coloured Tilda with copics, and now I'm going to fill this with choccys for someone special. Hope you like it.

Well, I've only had time for 1 posting in the last few days. My house is full of builders, plaster, and dust!!! I coloured Tilda with copics, did a bit of background building and cut the wagon from my cricut machine. You probably cant see the glitter on the sun, but I glitzed it up a bit with atyou spica pens.

Fast and Easy

Wow, 2 posts today. I have the builders in renovating my house at the moment, and half of me loves it as I get to dissappear to my craft room every now and then for a quick play, hence the 2 cards I made today. Ok, this is one of the new cuttlebug folders that I bought the other day, and just had to have a play today. Very quick for when your in a rush. I just embossed it, stamped the bird in the middle, coloured with copics of course, popped a couple of the flowers up on 3d foam, glittered them a little, punched the tree and used a fiskars punch for the border. The wording is done by rub ones. 10 minute card!!! Have a lovely weekend.

I brayerd the background with kaleidoscope ink, did a little masking with the trees and houses etc and coloured Farmer Tilda with copics. It was fun and fast to do. I stamped the image with momento black ink and coloured with various copic pens. I paper pieced the sofa and found some cushions that I thought would look good behind her. I downloaded the lamp off the internet, and it all came together.

My very first blog post, so please dont expect too much. My lovely friend, Deb, helped me to start this today, so I am truly new to this. I did the background first, then paper pieced the tree, added a bit of glitter to the heart. Coloured the whole thing with copic markers and sat tilda on the seat with 3dimensional tabs. Finished it off with sprinkling flower soft underneath the seat and tree.
